Danica Qualified for Junior Olympics!!

Junior Olympics 2025

Thank you for supporting my first Junior Olympics Competition. I had loads of fun, shot well, met a few college coaches, visited college campuses, tour museums, and visit the St. Louis Zoo. We did have to say goodbye to the van in Knoxville, TN and picked up a rental to finish the trip.  Since then we got a 2019 Subaru Ascent that hopefully will keep up with our travels for the next year. Thanks again for everyone's support.

They measured the rifle then weighed it. In another line they check my button placement. The final line (the longest) they checked the thickness of the suit. Only the custom suits ($2000+) were having issues. My suit is considered off the rack ($600), canvas and not as supportive. Not many people at this level still shoot in an off the rack. College coaches took note and factored it into my score. College rifle teams provide a custom suit so I will just keep shooting in my penguin suit.

60 Shot standing

Day 1 - 610.2  Day 2 - 606.1  Total- 1216.2

Got my first pair of boots. Oberle Enterprises https://oberleenterprises.com/ has been great to work with!

Had to check out the quality of welds on the wonderous creation. And yes...I had to check the welds.

I love Lewis and Clark and especially Seaman. This probably has to be one of my favorite statues. My mom loved me taking her on a side street (pass a homeless camp and the streets angles right INTO the Mississippi River). There was no parking on that street to the right! Then we found parking down town and briefly visited the museum until mom learned that her payment for parking did not go through and we rushed back to the van hoping for no ticket. Thanksfully no ticket had been issued.

University of Northern Georgia might have been my favorite campus. If so, Morehead isn't too far behind. Northern Georgia is gorgeous and warm!

Where's Waldo?

I am the black and white one on the right. Line took several hours to get through the check points.

I shot in my average. I had hoped to shoot better but I did improve how I handled the jitters and instead of taking the full 60 shots to get it out of my system (Colorado Springs Competition), the jitters settled after only 20 shots.

We always find free interactive centers. This one (https://www.nps.gov/places/sioux-city-lewis-clark-interpretive-center.htm), north of Kansas City was a great place to stretch legs. Of course I have to try to balance the boat among many other activities.

IF I were to ever get a dog...it would be a Newfoundland and his name would be Seaman.

IT WAS AMAZING! The next day we spent 3 hours touring the zoo. Then headed to our next stop, a campground in Mississippi, where we slept in the van.

Working on schoolwork before the next college tour. This was the best little coffee place. We ended up ordering 2 of these "bear bites" with fruit. They were so perfect to eat while we worked. https://www.bearnecessitiescafe.com/

Unfortunatly, the van did not like the Tennessee hills. We made it to Knoxville and Dad found this amazing tow company that took care of us. We rented another van to finish out the trip.
